The health of democracy depends largely on young people and their participation in political life, since they constitute the “great lung” of society. With this simple sentence we could summarize the motivation of our exchange project that aims to create a space for comparison, sharing and dialogue of experiences on the theme of young people’s participation in democracy.
The current well-being for the younger generations turns out to be an acquired fact but in reality this has been made possible only because other people before them have participated and, even at the cost of enormous sacrifices, have expressed their opinions by making the first step. Hence the title of our youth exchange project “Make the first step”, which wants to be a stimulus to young people to collaborate with each other, be informed, share problems and think about solutions, know the different and explore, create networks and, above all, make their voice heard.
The project plans to host in Treviso (Italy) 25 young people belonging to the participating organizations (4 for each organization plus a group leader) for 5 days of activity (plus 2 travel days).
All activities will take place through a non-formal education methodology encouraging the active participation of young people with the help of moderators and experts.
