In this times of social unrest, young people’s dissatisfaction with politics and different protest movements emerging all over the world, the participation of young people in democratic life becomes more and more important.
Today’s young people are the leaders of tomorrow and giving them the opportunity to discuss and deepen the concept of democracy is the best way to promote peace, human rights, stability, security and sustainable development. Young people consider their life style a fact, but in reality they are made possible only by being able to live in democratic countries and within the EU. For this reason, it becomes more and more important to know the history, values and foundations of democracy.
The project “Democracy: our past, our present, our future” aims to provide young people with the tools to read and face reality, starting from an experience of peer comparison.
The project plans to host 25 young people belonging to the participating organizations (4 for each organization plus a group leader) for 5 days of activity (plus 2 travel days).
All activities will take place through a non formal education methodology, encouraging the active participation of young people with the help of moderators and experts.
